A total of 55 businesses were surveyed across the county, with 7 located in rural areas and 48 in urban settings.

Electricity from the local grid (KPLC) remains the primary source of energy used by businesses for lighting. Out of the 55 businesses interviewed, 54% (30 businesses) reported having access to electricity through the KPLC grid, see Figure 22.

Of the 13 businesses engaged in cooking activities (2 in rural areas and 11 in urban areas), firewood and charcoal are the predominant sources of energy. Firewood is the primary fuel for 61.5% of these businesses, followed by charcoal at 23% as presented in Figure 23.
